He is a native New Yorker that grew up in the South Bronx, obtained a B.B.A. in Business Management from Monroe College, Bronx, New York and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Binghamton University, Binghamton, New York. His areas of expertise include Historical Sociology, World Systems Analysis, Colonial and Post-Colonial studies and Critical Race theory.
