She has been a Digital Senior Fellow at Mecila, S\u00e3o Paulo and specializes in culture and migration, advocating for decolonial critique in the German-speaking world. Among her many publications is the important book Migration, Domestic Work and Affect (2010), the recently published monograph Decolonial Mourning and the Caring Commons (2023) and her co-edited collection with Manuela Boatc\u0103 and S\u00e9rgio Costa Decolonizing European Sociology (2010\/2016). She has also co-edited volumes with other notable scholars, such as; Creolizing Europe.
