Abstract submission - Closed

Interested persons can submit an abstract of 300-500 words to aam2020@sta.uwi.edu by January 31, 2020. Abstracts must be submitted in MS-Word format, using APA guidelines, and should include:

  1. The proposal author(s) name, institutional affiliation and contact information 
  2. Title
  3. Sub-theme to which it applies
  4. Method
  5. Findings (if any), and
  6. Implications for developing academic advising and mentoring models within Caribbean institutions of higher education.

The following resources provide a list of articles and theses that address issues related to academic advising and mentorship. Listings are also provided for easy reference and access.

Note: With the exception of open access materials, the resources listed above are online databases to which The University of the West Indies St Augustine Campus Libraries currently subscribe. Due to terms and conditions in licensing agreements, access to subscription databases is restricted to registered students, current faculty and staff of the University. Members of The UWI community can access databases on and off Campus from The Alma Jordan Library’s website using their staff or student network login credentials. Publication possibilities

Students selected to participate in this two-day symposium will be assigned mentors to assist them with their presentations and with the writing of their paper for possible publication.

 

The selected presenters will be invited to submit a full paper for inclusion in a special issue of the Caribbean Educational Research Journal (CERJ).
