Abstract:
In this paper, we consider the unsteady hydromagnetic Couette flow of a viscous incompressible flow between two infinitely-long horizontal parallel plates under an oscillating pressure gradient. We apply a constant magnetic field which is perpendicular to the plates, and there is uniform suction and injection through the plates. The governing equation for fluid motion within the channel is discretized with the help of the Galerkin Finite Element Method. The effects of the Suction parameter , Hartmann number , Reynolds number , the amplitude of the pressure gradient and the oscillation frequency of the pressure gradient on the velocity distribution are investigated.
