Dr. Joan RawlinsDr. Subesh Ramjattan is a Renaissance man searching for knowledge and reaching for truth from any source. Among honors, he holds two honoris casa degrees from distinguished universities for his philanthropy, human service endeavors, and the contribution his five (5) substantive books made to the formal literature of the Caribbean. His life journey began in a poor village learning common-sense lessons from family and the village environment. He proceeded to learn more through education and as a young man working to gain the knowledge and resources to become a prosperous businessman. Throughout his life, he has sought to connect the dots of the present with the lessons of the past to understand present moral and social issues. He listens attentively and reads constantly. Subesh remembers almost everything good he learns from any source. He is unselfish in support of worthy projects and demonstrates concern for the underprivileged by providing programs and projects which enable the disadvantaged to become moral citizens of the Nation.

Subesh is a serious student of all subjects that touch his life. When he discovers the interrelationship of concepts and constructs, he immediately connects the dots by looking backwards to lessons already learned to inform his discourse with others. This interest has resulted in a business and personal journey that has increased the quality of life for many. His first book, The Anapausis Partnership, co-authored with his wife, Debra, catalogued much of the business and spiritual journey that established a model of philanthropy, mentoring, and coaching to improve the quality of life for the disadvantaged of Trinidad and Tobago.

Dr. Ramjattan's second book, God’s Work Done God’s Way, revealed more of his passion for ethical and morally based assistance for the disadvantaged. His third book, Living a Life Larger than Yourself, dealt with the quality of life he desired for all of God’s children from the cradle to the grave. His fourth book, Navigating the Challenges of Faith-based Behavior, was a sincere effort to reach family, friends and colleagues with the values that reflect Divine influence and moral values on a personal lifestyle.

The Second Edition of his recent book, Ageing has a Silver Lining –Coping with Rainy Days, is a crowning achievement to his work with the disadvantages and covers many aspects of ageing and the supportive processes for the elderly. Specifically, it deals with the difficulties of the ageing process, senior living problems, and the need for adequate eldercare and senior living facilities. This included the planning and construction of Olive’s House – a four stage project for the care of the elderly dedicated January 2014. Perhaps the most meaningful aspect of the life of Subesh Ramjattan is that all credit is given to divine blessings and he freely shares these blessings with others. Subesh continues to influence, speak, and mentor to improve the quality of life of others.
